What font is the Beetlejuice logo?

The poster lettering is a heavy condensed capital, and the stripes are added on top rather than built into the letterforms — the same black-and-white banding as the suit.

That separation is useful: pick a solid condensed face, then apply the stripes yourself.

The fonts here

  • Sudbury Basin is a heavy display capital that takes stripes well without the counters filling in.
  • Riot Act 2 is distressed and uneven, closer to the sequel’s rougher treatment.
  • Squealer is a blackletter-flavoured display face for a more gothic take.

All three are free to download and use, including commercially.

Where the style comes from

The film’s graphic identity is built on repetition of one idea — black and white stripes — across the costume, the sandworms and the title. The typeface is almost incidental; the banding is the brand.

This is why picking a font first and stripes second gets it backwards. Choose something heavy enough that horizontal bands still leave the letters readable.

Setting it well

  • Keep the stripes horizontal and even, and make sure at least three cross each letter
  • Use a condensed weight so the bands have enough vertical surface to read against
  • Slight rotation of the whole word sells it better than distressing individual letters

Frequently asked questions about the Beetlejuice Font

Is the Beetlejuice Font free to download?

Yes. Sudbury Basin, Riot Act 2, and Squealer are free to download on this page. Check each designer's terms before commercial use.

Is this the exact font used for Beetlejuice?

Not exactly. The original lettering was custom drawn or is not publicly licensed, so the fonts here are close recreations. Sudbury Basin is the nearest match we have found.

Can I use the Beetlejuice Font commercially?

Treat that as two separate questions. The font file needs a licence that permits commercial use, which is set by whoever made it. Separately, the brand name, logo and characters are trademarks, so recreating a logo can infringe even with a properly licensed font. For merchandise or client work, check both.

How can I preview the Beetlejuice Font with my own text?
