What font is the PUBG logo?
This is one of the few game logos with a straightforward answer: the wordmark is set in Headliner No. 45, a distressed face by Kevin Christopher that looks like letterpress type printed through a worn plate. The erosion is built into the letterforms rather than added as an effect afterwards.
That distressing is doing the work. Set the same words in a clean condensed sans and the association disappears completely, because what reads as PUBG is the texture, not the proportions.

Where the style comes from
Distressed display faces come out of letterpress printing, where worn metal type, uneven inking and absorbent paper produced broken edges and filled-in counters. Designers spent decades trying to eliminate those flaws, then digital type made them impossible — so they were deliberately redrawn back in.
Games set in a scavenged, improvised world reach for that texture because it reads as used rather than manufactured. It is the same instinct that puts hand-painted signage in a survival setting.
Setting it well
- Do not add a drop shadow or outline — the distressed edges are already carrying the visual weight and an outline fills the broken parts back in
- Keep it large. Erosion detail disappears below about 24px and you are left with a slightly wobbly sans for no reason
- For subtitles and interface text, switch to the clean alternative rather than shrinking the distressed face
